We are ecstatic to announce that we emerged victorious as one of the three winners at the Global Hackcelerator, Singapore Fintech Festival 2018. Congratulations to Mosabi and Billon Group on their win as well!

We were one of the finalists for the 2018 Global Fintech Hackcelerator program, powered by KPMG Digital and sponsored by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). During the 12-week programme, we worked together with our three mentors PropertyGuru (the Asia’s largest online property portal group), AIA (leading pan-Asian life insurance company) and KPMG to bring our solution to the next level.

During the first day of the Singapore Fintech Festival, the largest FinTech Conference, in front of more than 1,000 attendees and a prestigious 12-member jury, we showcased our solution amid 20 other start-ups from all over the world. We notably featured a unique functionality developed during the Hackcelerator with PropertyGuru, allowing BTO users to simulate property affordability and directly retrieve relevant real estate out of the actual 200,000 properties listed on PropertyGuru.

The jury recognized the value of our solution and the potential impact we can have to help financial advisers to adopt a more customer-centric approach and at the same time educate their clients of the impact of their financial decisions. Following an exciting QA session with the jury, we were crowned as one of the three winners in this extraordinary competition.

Earlier this year, we won the DIAmond Award for Most Innovative Start-Up at the Digital Insurance Agenda Conference in Amsterdam which is the largest InsurTech event in the world and now, we are ecstatic to have also won at the largest FinTech event in the world, Singapore FinTech Festival. Winning these two awards re-emphasises that we are indeed relevant in both the FinTech and InsurTech spaces.

We also had the pleasure of showing a demo at our booth to esteemed individuals such as Singapore’s Finance Minister, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, the Chairwoman of International Monetary Fund, Ms. Christine Lagarde and, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

This prestigious award has strengthened our relationship with customers and partners and has opened multiple doors for new opportunities . Additionally it gave us high exposure in various media platforms – FinTech News, Nasdaq, OCBC TV just to name a few.

According to many headlines, algorithms are displacing human advisers to try and save costs. At BTO, we believe there is ample opportunity to create the best of both worlds by combining modern technology with human skills. Deploying technology to empower human front-liners results in better conversations, higher conversions and finally, greater solutions for customers.
